Be a Guest Blogger!

Hello, all! It's been quite a while, but I'm still here, lurking and reading your blogs. Man, I miss posting, but school has consumed almost every aspect of my life, and nail polish unfortunately has to take a back seat. Since I started (and kind of stopped) blogging, a ton of new awesome nail polish blogs have come up, and most of my old favorite blogs are still going strong.

With this is mind, I'd love to have some guest bloggers on my site. There have been some great guest posts in the past and it's fun for me and for everyone else to see something different on the blog every now and then. If this is something you would be interested in, please shoot me an email at auroramermaid@yahoo.com. Anything goes--swatches, nail art, tutorials...it's not just limited to nail polish, either; make up, skin care, and stories/experiences (we've all had a beauty nightmare or seven before!) are also welcome.

Miss you guys! I can't wait to start swatching again. I have a ton of polishes to show and nail art attempts to showcase. But in the meantime, where my guest bloggers at?! Hit me up!

Nicole by OPI Disco Dolls

Hey, remember the good ol' days when I actually used to write blog posts? Cause I miss those days.

I still haven't completely gotten things (things = my life) under control enough to where I feel I can write regular blog posts, but maybe starting out slow is for the best.

SO...once upon a December 2011, I reviewed the Nicole by OPI Kardashian Kolors. And I managed to review thirteen of the fourteen colors. Somehow, in the midst of my travels (a two-hour journey, by the way), I managed to forget to pack Disco Dolls, but in my review I did promise my readers that I'd review it ASAP. (Over a year later is considered "soon," right?) ANYWAY.

Below is Disco Dolls at two coats. It covers well, but dries gritty. Any topcoat will take care of that, though, I believe, as the polish isn't too rough.

Disco Dolls happens to be a pretty terrific polish. There's fine gold glitter that sets the base color, punctuated by bits of round rainbow glitter. It's basically the gold version of Nicole by OPI Follow Me On Glitter (a slate gray polish/glitter combo of the same collection--and dammit, I still can't get over that terrible name...ugh.)

Names aside, both polishes are great. I've worn Disco Dolls a few times, and I feel like, no matter what, it goes with every outfit. It's flashy, that's for sure, but not so overwhelmingly glittery that you can't wear it to school or out in public at the risk of people assuming that you're trying to blind them with your fingernails.

Thoughts? Am I the only person that thinks that Disco Dolls and Follow Me On Glitter are fraternal twins? What do you guys think about the gold/rainbow combo?

Miss you guys, and I can't wait to get back to blogging regularly!
