OPI Femme de Cirque SoftShades

I'm a girl that adores soft, sweet shades. Oh, sure, I will pile on the glitter and holos like there's no freakin' tomorrow, but I also love to throw on a nice neutral or pale pink now and then. Enter OPI Femme de Cirque, the SoftShades collection of 2011. Femme de Cirque is comprised of four polishes: two jelly-cremes, one sheer jelly, and one sheer shimmer-glitter. Now, I am almost too embarrassed to show these pictures, due to the horrific state of my cuticles, but that's what a break from blogging and nail care will do to you. Just know that I'm not suffering from some scary fungal infection--I just have icky fingers at the moment.

In the Spot-Light Pink is a sheer rose pink jelly. It would be perfect for a French manicure, in fact. One coat will give you a nice glossy finish, but it's build-able for a milky, semi-opaque coverage. This is one coat. I don't wear sheers, because my nails are not meant for sheer polishes. The nails are just all different sizes and shapes. Bummer, because I actually like some sheer polishes, too. Oh, well.
Four coats. It is very flattering, and I love the squishy-ness. I shall call him Squishy and he shall be mine and he shall be my Squishy.

I Juggle...Men has a kooky name, but it's actually a very neat polish. It's a sheer base with iridescent microglitter (or is it shimmer?) that flashes all different colors, but mostly pink, blue, and purple. I would only wear it as a top coat, but I did a few coats of it on bare nail anyway, for swatch's sake. I can't wait to layer this over darker colors, like navy blue and black.

And now, the fun begins. I love love love So Many Clowns, So Little Time. Again, the name leaves a little something to be desired, but the color is so fresh and clean. It's a very very pale pink, almost white jelly-creme. Above is four coats, but you can wear it at different levels of opacity, depending on your preference. It builds up nicely without streaking and dries rather quickly, with no bubbling issues that are sometimes associated with these kinds of colors. Is this similar to the original Bubble Bath? The off-white version? I could be completely off, but that's okay because ohhh goodness, I love this color!
Above is one coat, for those that would want it sheerer. Haha, sheerer is a funny word.
I layered one coat of I Juggle...Men over it, which resulted in a very subtle glitter effect. It's perfect for very conservative women that are looking to add a small dose of pizazz to their look.

My other favorite of the collection is Step Right Up!, a pale seashell pink jelly-creme. Above is four coats, just to even it all out, but I could have done three. It had the same great formula and consistency of So Many Clowns, So Little Time, except that I believe this one is meant to be worn opaque, or at least semi-opaque. One coat was slightly uneven and not sheer enough to be ''sheer,'' if you know what I mean. Two coats could work, but I believe it looks best at three or four. It's so girly and sweet, it would be perfect for a baby girl's nursery. It reminds me of pointe shoes, too!
I topped it with a thin layer of I Juggle...Men and it had the same result--a barely-there twinkle of color. There's a Zoya polish that's similar to this look, I believe, but I can't be sure, because I don't own it. Danielle? Scrangie has a picture of it, so compare at your leisure.

Bottom line, I think this is a great collection. The cremes are great--a lot of us are fans of that squishy texture, and you won't be disappointed with these. And while I'm not a sheer gal, I can't ignore this one because of its great formula. I also applaud OPI for the shimmery topcoat, because it's not too over the top, unless you do a few layers. At least I think it's a topcoat, anyway. The names were kind of lame, but to be honest, I've sort of come to expect that of OPI. Although it isn't really a circus-themed set, I wish they'd done a Brights collection with a circus theme. Wouldn't that be cool? Like a Trapeze Turquoise or something? Okay, okay, I'll stop now.

Bottom bottom line, bravo OPI. :D
