OPI Swiss Collection [Part I of II]

Oh hayyyyy, guys!

You know how sometimes you have those craptastic days? Like, life just royally kicks your ass? I'd been having a few of those. But a surprise visit from the wonderful novio cheered me right up, and I'm feeling back to my usual self. The OPI Swiss Collection may have contributed to my feeling better, I just have to put that out there...

I broke the collection up into two parts, so we'll see six today and six later. Onto the swatches!

The Color to Watch was one of the polishes I was most excited about from this collection, and it lived up to my expectations. I don't have any other color like this one...kind of a lilac with a dusty quality and an icy blue shimmer. Unique indeed. 3 coats.

Color So Hot It Berns is your basic red, but OPI certainly knows how to do a good red. Not orange, but not really blue toned, either. Just pure red. I love this one, I really do! 2 coats.

I'm not usually a fan of red-browns, but I'm Suzi & I'm A Chocoholic is a pretty, wearable polish. Although I can't say it reminds me of chocolate. It's slightly more red in real life than it appears in my picture, but it's still definitely brown. 2 coats.

From A to Z-urich. I love you, OPI, I really do. But I truly hate all the punctuation in your names...just throwing that out there. This polish was actually a surprise for me; I would have never picked this wine-colored creme up off a shelf, but I LOVE it. On the nail it just looks so...appropriate. Does that make sense? 2 coats.

Ski Teal We Drop is a deep, dusty peacock blue. These muted colors seem pretty popular this fall and you won't hear me complaining! 2 coats.

Finally we have the bling bling Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous. A silver-that-leans-towards-gunmetal-gray type of color with a foil-like quality that really catches the light. As an added bonus, it dries smooth. The first two coats had me worried, because I was seeing some pretty significant bald spots, but the third coat smoothed everything out. 2 coats.

The formula on these was excellent, and I could go on and on about the pro-wide brush. I'm sure all could have been done in two coats, but I prefer to do thinner coats. Pigmentation was terrific. OPI did a great job with this collection...check back for the second half soon!

What are your thoughts? Any that you have to have?

  1. I like From A to Z-urich - I tend to favor berry colors. I like the colors of this half of the collection, but I like the second half better.

  4. Ski Teal We Drop is THE ONE by far! I love it. It's just the perfect blue for fall season. So easy to match it with a handbag too. ;)
